RIGENERA is a public program that creates spaces for dialogue around circularity in design, architecture, and art, exploring both its opportunities and its complexities. Rooted in the places where urban waste is collected, processed, and transformed into new resources, the project turns real production sites into immersive settings for discussions, workshops, and debates. By bringing participants directly into environments of material transformation, RIGENERA encourages new forms of observation, exchange, and collective engagement beyond conventional cultural venues.

Structured around five site-specific events the program is inspired by the Utrecht Sustainability Institute’s 10Rs framework for circular economies. Each event focuses on a pair of these principles, connecting theory with practice through contributions from an international network of academics, architects, curators, artists, and experimental collectives. Notable participants include Janice Li (Design Museum’s Future Observatory, London), landscape architect and researcher Chiara Geroldi, curator Emanuele Guidi, artist Lara Almarcegui, and studios such as Vacuum Atelier and Collettivo ZATTERE, whose work translates circularity into tangible experiences and critical reflections on contemporary material culture.
