The Design for Change event presents two new publications: Journal Safar Issue 9, published in Beirut and focused on the aesthetics of dissent, and Design Drafts #3, a collaborative edition co-produced by Nieuwe Instituut and Journal Safar, featuring writers Tala Abdalhadi, Myriam Amri, Shruti Hussain, Candice Jansen, and Alice Wan.

The evening brings together editors, designers, and contributors from both platforms to reflect on how publishing functions in protest — a method of world-making and a space for shared methodologies and solidarity.

Expect readings, conversations, and other contributions offering insights into the making of both Safar’s latest issue and the Design Drafts edition. The event is part of the ongoing Design for Change programme series at Nieuwe Instituut.
