Urban Stocks – Spolia Returns
LLRRLLRR
38 columns built from scrap, demolition leftovers and discarded products recreate the basilica-like space in the Estonian Museum of Architecture. The exhibition "Urban Stocks – Spolia Returns" (25.05. – 30.07.2023) showcases first steps about urban mining in Estonia, while introducing critical ideas about material resourcing, other aesthetics and non-linear design processes to wider audiences. The column as a theoretical and practical device in shaping architecture, is once again in the focus of attention. The museum was turned into a space somewhere between a church and a scrapyard, shop and storage, construction, and demolition site – a place where material flow through.
