Turin was an industrial city par excellence, a symbol of the Fordist model and of the growth devoted to production. When the robustness and hardness of the system went into crisis, the capital of Piedmont came in touch with drastic changes, as an emergency: the asset of the industrial city died. The project area is a peculiar model of this scenario; its productive past is testified by the presence of gasometers, landmarks and symbols of the district's memory. At the same time, that piece of the city is the theatre of new transformations, where a mix of functions and practices coexists. The ambition of the architectural project is to catalyse and to strengthen the spontaneous effervescence of the area, activating urban regeneration processes.
The project was developed within the context of the Politecnico of Turin.
