The project was developed within the context of the Third-year undergraduate spring studio at UIC Chicago "This Is Not a 22-Carat Styrofoam Casino".
The project challenges the casino typology by exploding the program into rectangular fragments that allow for close and long distant interactions between individuals with stairs, elevators, and slides. These platforms create an open interior that put its participants on display where their actions become a performance viewable from (close) platform to platform or from across the entire casino floor (far). Screams of joy from a winning gamer would attract attention from all viewable platforms. Program of each platform is divided into two types with attractions open and aligned with the exterior envelope and utilities closed off and with a 45-degree rotation. Organic volumes enclose intimate spaces such as the restaurant, bar, and wedding chapel that contrast with the floating platforms of the casino.
