Everyday practices, culture and commons between the neighbouring countries Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan are the centre of the summer school “Researching Common Territories”. Shared practices such as food preparation and consumption in both public and private spaces have been studied through an attentive anthropological and spatial lens. Students thus witnessed multi-ethnic togetherness in the border region of Marneuli, mapped landmarks and gathered stories about migration, regional politics and traditional culture.

The Summer School “Researching Common Territories” is an international project realised by Dekabristen e.v. (DE), the European University Viadrina (DE), Tbilisi Architecture Biennial (GE), One Caucasus Festival (GE) and funded by the Federal Foreign Office in the framework of the Eastern Partnership program.
