The project consists of the design and development of a modular system to reactivate and re-functionalize abandoned high-rise buildings in the center of Rosario, Argentina, through a state-applied program. The system is conceived to provide an open spatial matrix that can serve as a laboratory for exploring new domestic configurations centered on shared service spaces, multi-programmatic buildings, and co-housing. Considering the number of unfinished multi-storied buildings scattered throughout Rosario, the project aims to offer a climate-conscious approach to the housing shortage and the gentrification processes that push marginalized communities further away from the consolidated city.
