“Platform for Imagined Ruins” depicts a dramatized process of excavation, assembly, and use for quarried stones found around the world. The phases and geographies of this accelerated supply chain--mining, cutting, hauling--are collapsed into the same spatial realm, leveraging the tools of architecture to bring the geologic and anthropogenic history of an industry into a singular moment of the present. In this compressed scenography of a timeless natural resource, contemporary architecture is repositioned within the vast expanse of time, revealing the destiny of buildings: a ruin to become.
