Call for Drawings | Honourable Mention September

NON FINITO deals with the conversion of parts of the Domus Aurea in Rome. The aim of the intervention is to open up the discussion about the protection of monuments and to subvert the elitist and hermetic character of the cultural heritage through participative curatorial practices. In this project cultural products are not understood as static and untouchable objects but instead as objects that have to be in a constant state of change in order to hold their cultural relevance and reference value. It raises the question of how a society can redefine cultural heritage in the age of ‘Code Space’ through digital augmentation. The objective is to transform historical monuments from passive cultural consumption sites to active cultural creation sites by utilising interactive projection installations that are inspired by the social internet event R/Place.
