Like Words in Snow

Like words in snow is a proposal for a place of dialogue, mediation, and exchange. Conceptualised as a “Lobby” both in its sense as a verb and a noun, it seeks to embrace cross-pollination across physical, cultural, and meta-physical territories and addresses a set of interconnected concerns of affection, care, stewardship, displacement, belonging, and trade. Using water as a metaphor, building on various lores describing it as the foundation of the whole world and the basis for life, the essence of this project lies in the relationship of those inhabiting the Salt marshes in India and the sabkhas in Arabia with water (and salt).
