La Galerie Bienvenue, developed within the context of EPF, stems from a semester researching the French prison system. Prisons today are overcrowded and very restrictive in terms of architectural program. The project approaches this typology with a completely radical approach. The project takes as a point of departure a painting by Sandro Botticelli, representing Dante’s Inferno, and challenges the prison within the Boulevard périphérique, the ring which encloses the city of Paris.
