The project takes as a starting point the material as a referential instrument and ecological theme. The collecting of vast amounts of waste material and the transformation of this into an ideal construction system which can be then inserted within a natural context leads to a semantically tense and contradictory building. The project is situated on the bank of the Yauza river in the east part of the Akveduk park in Moscow, an irregular natural park adjacent to the row of factories and railway raised up above the river. The footprint for the project coincides with the cadastral perimeter of an abandoned motor depot as the intention is that of recycling the complex and working as a natural implant. The program originates as a consequence of the material explored and consists of several levels of grounds and embankments and five hangars of vaulted space devoted to the recycling, storage and sorting of glass packing materials, thematic exhibitions as well as an ecological educational programme.
