The proposal seeks to reawaken Lebanese heritage, deeply woven into the fabric of the daily life of the people of Beirut. At its heart lies the Dar, a central space where the rituals of the everyday unfold. In the Dar, simple acts — preparing meals, sharing stories, and celebrating milestones — transform into moments of collectivity. These rituals become symbols of resistance and hope, amid turmoiled days for Lebanon. However, today’s generation, shaped by globalization, has lost touch with the communal essence of the Lebanese home. This project aims not only to restore this forgotten heritage, but also to reconnect Lebanese youth with the values that the Dar represents. The Lebanese community has long been divided, and bringing together a Lebanese youth, from different areas and backgrounds, aims at restoring a crucial sense of belonging. The transformation of the Takkiedine El Solh Mansion is one example of revival. Yet, many silent decaying houses still await their turn to resonate with life and integrate once again, in Beirut’s rich urban fabric. Through this intervention, the aim is to foster a renewed sense of unity and continuity. By engaging the new generation in preserving and celebrating heritage, a living tradition is cultivated where the rhythms of daily life continue to flow through the Dars of Beirut.
