The proposal explores the concept of the hinterland and its ability to create space by interacting with the contingent elements, both material and immaterial, within rural interscalarity and temporality. Situated in the rural outskirts of Van, the deposition school views the ground as a living substance and aims to establish space through the material cycle. It proposes a process where rural inhabitants observe and learn from the hinterland. Calcium carbonate in quaternary travertine undergoes a three-phase constructive process, transforming the material cycle into architecture and creating a unique architecture of deposition. The project was developed within the context of the Istanbul Technical University.
