The project explores the relationship between objects (or building components) and their placement within a field (or grain). These relationships are defined as being either “well-fitted” or “free-floating.” Each strategy produces very different qualities and environments. Programmatically the project merges two very different environments into one urban building: the calmness of housing and activeness of the food market.

The project was developed within the context of Cal Poly Pomona.
