The original Academy of Arcadia was a literary academy founded in Rome on 5
October 1690 by Giovanni Vincenzo Gravina and Giovanni Mario Crescimbeni The Academy is considered not only as a simple school of thought but as a real literary movement that developed and spread throughout Italy during the eighteenth century in response to what was considered the bad taste of the Baroque. The project site is located between two lakes (Lago Grande and Piccolo) near the historic city of Moncenisio on the border of Italy and France. The commune is called Arcadia by analogy with the Roman community, it is a place for contemplating your thoughts, reading, discussing, and sharing knowledge. In terms of atmosphere, we compare it with Raphael’s fresco “The School of Athens”.

The project was developed within the context of the Politecnico of Milan.
